We specialize in custom fabricated components, including windshields and other windows, hatches, storage and tackle boxes, swim platforms, bow sprits and a wide array of related components.
Our products are all hand-built, custom to your particular needs, so if you have that obscure shaped or sized hatch, or an odd windshield that is NLA (no longer available) from the manufacturer, we can very likely solve your problem!
We use only the highest quality materials to build your project. There are many kinds of plastics and petroleum based materials, all of which have particular uses. They also have a lot of different names for the same thing. You've heard of most!
Starboard(r) is also known as "high density polyethylene". Super rugged and durable, with a long life and quality finish. Great for hatches, tackle boxes, storage compartments, swim platforms, bow sprits, cutting boards and the like.
Plexi-glass(r) is the same as acrylic or poly-carbonate , among other names. This is what is used to make most windows and windshields, hatch lenses, many hatches, dash panels and display cases. It comes in a wide array of colors, both translucent and solid and has a very glossy finish.
Lexan(r) is commonly referred to, but not widely used - it is another form of poly-carbonate, but not the same as acrylic. It is used for some windows and windshields, but cannot be bent with heat (although for gradual bends, thinner material is flexible and will follow soft contours. It is only available in a handful of colors and is more expensive than acrylic.
PVC is a solid plastic that looks like Starboard (r), but is not as strong or durable. It is most commonly used for hidden bulkheads or the insides of drawers or storage compartments. It can be glued and painted, but is not recommended for items that need strength and longevity. It is fairly inexpensive, but gets dented or broken fairly easily, so better to stick with Starboard(r) for the boat!
